While I haven’t been a huge fan of the author’s earlier works I’m completely obsessed with this book. Hands down one of my top 5 books I read in 2022. This book took my breath away with it’s gorgeous atmosphere and the romance. It also had a haunted, ominous feel to it which I loved. The author’s writing style was beautiful and exquisite, I couldn’t stop reading. The plot took awhile to really get moving but with the slow, gothic vibes I didn’t mind one bit. I did think it was going to have more witchy elements based off the title but it was more of a murder mystery. Lots of unforeseeable twists that I didn’t see coming and a heart wrenching romance has easily made this one of my favorite books of all time.
